As an entrepreneur you’re constantly learning, even years into the process. And that means you’re constantly making mistakes.
And there’s no way around how much mistakes suck. They knock you on your butt and make you feel like you’re totally worthless. But they also serve to teach us where we’re missing, lacking, and just not serving our customers as well as we could.
So I bet you’re dying to know what mistake I made! Well, I haven’t quite teased it out just yet. But I know that I wasn’t prepared to launch a paid group program yet. For many of you, it’s hard to decide where the money you’re investing in your business goes. There’s not much of it and you’re afraid to waste it. At least, that’s how I felt when I first started out and definitely how I feel on big purchases now (like that web designer I absolutely adore but keep putting off). And I’ve realized by the emails I’ve gotten and the abysmally low enrollment that you’re afraid to spend your money on The B Word and end up not learning anything… you don’t want a program that doesn’t help you become successful and you’re not sure if The B Word will or not.
So I’m with you. I’m in your court and I’m going to give you something special. I may be still teasing out what I didn’t do to show you that The B Word can turn your business around. But I know where you’re at and once I figure it out, things will be gangbusters for next time around because I’ve already sketched out more content I want to add to the program by summer!
In the meantime….
And here’s the great part…
I have two weeks of awesome content just sitting there waiting for you. So I’m opening up The B Word for free! Wheee!!! No kidding. I was actually talking with my fiance about what I might have missed in the process that was leaving so many of you on the fence and he stopped and stared at me and said, “Why are you even charging for this?”
It hit me right then that while The B Word is ready for a price tag, you aren’t ready to purchase it yet. And my goal from this program isn’t to make money but to teach a lot of you at once, help you get on the right path to find success, and prime you for my private coaching so you come in better-prepared and we can work on things that are more complex.
Whether you think you’ll ever want to work with me one-on-one or not, there’s a lot of really fantastic content in The B Word just sitting there and I know it will help your art business. So feel free to head over and sign up whenever you’re ready – for free! And start enjoying the content. Everything is still going the same way… Class starts Monday, but if you’re a little late it’s fine as long as there are still spots left. I can only take 25 people (because I only have that much space on the calls), there are Q&A calls on both Fridays, there’s a private Facebook group where you can ask me questions more quickly and network with the other students, worksheets and action steps and videos – oh my!
When you start hearing the same thing from multiple customers or potential customers, you need to stop and listen. Now, it isn’t always super-constructive (like the message I got from someone who was totally not in my target market and just knocked down everything I’ve built), but it’s always useful knowledge. So take note of what people are saying and where it’s coming from. Get in their heads. What are they experiencing that you didn’t expect or didn’t understand? What could you be doing to answer their questions, give them more of what they need or less of what they don’t, or generally serve them better? Genuinely listen to them, though. This isn’t brainstorming what problems you think they have. It’s hearing what problems they say they have and brainstorming ways to SOLVE those problems. (haha – see how I did that, sneaking in a lesson for you!)
Thanks for telling me where you’re at so I can give you what you need. You’re the best. Seriously.
PS – it was this article that finalized my decision. While I’m not a mystical person myself, I like to pay attention when things “coincidentally” pop up in my life.
