There are some simple best practices for working successfully with Laura in a consulting relationship. Please contact Laura directly if you have any questions about the consulting process that aren’t outlined below.
Laura does not keep strict business hours (freedom is what running your own business is about!) but she is generally available from 12pm until 7pm EST every day except Sunday. She will check her email inbox at least daily unless she notifies you directly. Often, she will work outside the hours of her general availability and is open to adjusting for your needs, especially if time zones are involved.
Laura will not schedule a consulting call prior to 11am EST so that she can accommodate family time and a strict morning routine.
Laura is easiest to contact via email. Facebook messages and other social media methods of communication are not checked daily and may go unnoticed for several days. Laura will not answer phone or Skype calls unless they have been previously scheduled.
No fun, but if Laura has an emergency and needs to cancel a consulting call she will give you options to make up the session. In general, Laura does not add time onto the end of the consulting period because it may run into another client’s consulting period. If you have an emergency and need to cancel a consulting call you may make up the session within 7 days.
If an emergency (such as illness or a natural disaster) causes a larger problem than just a missed session, arrangements will be made to continue your consulting period longer than normal or to give you a refund if need be.
Laura will take time off for Christmas and encourages you to as well if you celebrate the holiday. Usually this is about two weeks surrounding Christmas Day. Laura will inform you of the particular dates by December 15th. Laura does not typically take time off for other holidays.
If you’ve had a great experience with Laura, she would love for you to share that with other artists. If you refer someone who becomes a client (at least 3 months), you can choose either a month of Maintenance consulting or a 10% commission as a thank you present.
